10. They "walk" on all fours. And spread dirt and debris around the house to their little hearts content. If there is dirt, or a dead bug hidden somewhere, they will find it, and eat it.
9. They play with absolutely everything they aren't supposed too. If you left it out, or within reach, they will find it, and they will probably destroy it.
8. They both need to be potty trained. A dog you can put outside, and a kid you can change the diaper...but in the mean time, sometimes nasty things happen on your clean floors.
7. Sometimes they lick or bite you.
6. They are both extremely cute and ridiculously cuddly. They will always want to curl up and cuddle when you are busy, and never when you need them to cuddle you.
5. They beg for treats. Like baby, like puppy, if they hear their favorite snack (or any kind of snack for that matter) being opened they are there behind you in the blink of an eye, waiting oh so impatiently for you to hand over the goodies.
4. Bane of your balance. If you weren't expecting to trip and fall down today, they have different plans for you. They will sneak up behind you and sit right where you were going to step, and it will happen when you are carrying something heavy, or fragile, or hot!
3. Sometimes they growl at you for no apparent reason.
2. Toilet paper is a thing of wonder for them. It makes a huge mess in a very short period of time. What's not to love?!
1. Its a rule that they are going to be the loudest, or most cantankerous, at the exact time you really need them to be still and calm. Its a real thing.

The One About Several Things
Operator error? System malfunctions? Evil, conniving machinery? A virus? Or perhaps the fact that I haven't updated my computer since I got it (no judging, updates change things, I don't like my things changed!)...Whatever it was my computer was taking a hiatus from working properly for the last few weeks. I've been getting lots of "Program Not-Responding" messages and such. Magically it started working again today.
That means we get to play catch-up!
First off lets start with BK...
Every day she wants to go outside, outside, outside first thing! Its 90 degrees, but we are outside! I'm not really complaining. I love being outside too. She scrapes her toes and knees crawling on the rocks and concrete, but she is happy as a clam when she is outside.
She has also become quite the reader. Or, more accurately, quite the picture-looker-atter. Her books are her go-to thing in the morning (course she needs to take every book off the shelf in order to find the right one.)
It makes this momma happy, happy, happy that she likes books so much!
(Studying the Great Book of Pooh.)
We all finally got our library cards again, and have been going to there about once a week. She absolutely adores this toy, and would play with it for hours if she could. We do need to work on our quite abilities at the library though. Its ok to say hi to people, but not to shout at them from across the room...which she does when she sees a man or a baby she likes, which is all of them.Climbing things is also very 'in" right now. The stairs are a favorite, for example. Although she's not allowed to climb them, she tries at least 67 times a day. Getting up them isn't the issue, its the part where she turns around at the top and tries to come down head first where we run into the problem. So we are working getting her to not try to sneak up the stairs when she thinks I'm not watching.
She has also become a little beggar-face, even more so than she was. You have it, and are eating it, you will end up sharing it, not doubt. Bubby has become her Dorito buddy. Daddy is her coffee buddy. Sissy is her sandwich buddy. And I am her whatever I'm eating buddy. Kid loves the food, but I'm not complaining. I'm actually really *cough* proud of how well she eats. (It's gonna come back and bite me now that I've said it.)
We found these Arrowroot cookies for babies at Wal-Mart...her face says it all.
On the Farm...
Our chickens have been doing well, the glutinous beasts!
But hey, you cannot beat fresh eggs. You just cant.
Also...we have, another, new addition!
Daddy got BK an early birthday present.
Meet Albus. A.K.A Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore. He is a cream mini Dachshund, extremely sweet and mild natured. He is NOT house trained but we are working on that. He's got the part figured out where he knows he's in trouble for going in the house, as he tries to hide, but not the part where he's figured out what to do about it.
But he is an angel, not a nip, growl or snarl out of him. Not even when the baby pulls his tail, or crawls over him.
He and McGonagall are best of friends. She will wait by the door for him to come out and play, and they will rough and tumble all over the place.
(Best picture ever!)
Baby girl loves them both. She leans her head on them every morning as her way of saying she loves them.
Now on to other things...lets reverse to the 4th of July, which our family celebrated on the 5th.
Each year we have a big get-together at our uncle's house. There is a big dinner, water balloon war, an obstacle course, shaving cream fight, among other things, followed by a fireworks display put on by the younger men of the family.
(Sissy had some stick-tights)
Cole got the water bucket.
The obstacle course/relay race ran like this (if I can remember it all). Jump over (or through) a pool of water to the slip-n-slides that led to a ball that you had to kick around some poles, then jump rope 5 times then do a dizzy bat, then you had to toss bean bags through a hoop into a bucket, then you had to grab a water balloon, crab walk with it under your chin to a chair where you had to sit on it and pop it, then run back through the slip-n-slides, over the pool and tag your team-mate. I did not play. I watched safely from the sidelines and played with this patriotic baby...
Each year the 4th of July party has a theme. This year it was supposed to be neon, but since my uncle was turning 50 we all surprised him by wearing white shirts with a 50th birthday message on it. (He was the only one wearing neon...heehehe!)
(BK's front)
(And back)
(Mine)It was a great time had by all. One of the biggest highlights of this particular holiday (for me anyway) is the homemade ice cream that Grandma and Grandpa Southard make. Get in my belly! But you better get it fast cuz its gone in a hurry. BK woke up from her nap just in time to get a little. She liked it so much she darn near threw a tantrum when it was all gone. But...
Someone gave her a cup and a spoon and she pretended to eat ice cream for a while.
When it got dark the fireworks began...
(obligatory firework picture.)
Baby girl did ok, she didn't mind the noise too much, until about halfway through, then we went in. But she loved all the lights.
THE END
And that brings us too something a little closer to date. The boys birthday bash/swim party! The most people to have been in my house (and pool) at once!
It was a blast. Almost everyone got to go swimming then hubby grilled about a ton of hotdogs and everyone visited for a long time.
We had cookie cakes and brownies and lots of ice cream...
...and presents!
Annnnd we get to do it all again in 2 weeks for BK and Fritz who are turning one! Party at my house!
The last few weeks have been completely exhausting, and completely amazing.
Some days I think I would trade it all for a few extra hours of sleep or some alone time, but I'll let you in on a secret, I really wouldn't. Except for teething days, those I would gladly give up!
It's not every day you see a horse with two rear ends!

The Baby K One
I woke up this morning, and did my usual thing.
I stood up in my crib and yelled for mom
while pooping my pants.
I was hungry, so I thought I might hint it
to mom by chewing on myself.
Cannibalism is serious stuff...
moms can't be having that kind of thing!
Then I was like...
OMG! I need coffee!
(Yuuuuumy, coffee!)
I was looking through moms pictures this morning
and I saw that the only thing she took
pictures of this week was me!
Well...
She did take this picture of vegetables from her garden, but seriously, its all me. So this week, I'm telling the stories!
But first...hey mom!
I might be needing some more coffee!
A little about me...
If I had to describe myself I would say that I'm a delight to be around. I'm not like the other babies. I only cry when there's really something to cry about. To prove it, I'll tell you top ten things I cried about this week, so that you can know what a chill baby I am.
1. Mom wouldn't let me eat rabbit poop.
2. Mom didn't give me a bite fast enough.
3. I dropped my pacifier.
4. The kitty kept running away from me.
5. Mom wouldn't let me put my hands in my dirty diaper.
6. I found a fuzzy stuck to my knee and didn't like it.
7. I didn't want to play with my blocks.
8. Mom wouldn't let me play with the electric sockets.
9. Sissy wanted to hold me.
10. Mom wouldn't let me pinch her lip.
So, you see, I only get upset when there are things to get upset about. Mostly, I'm really cool, and very undemanding. I only demand things like food, to picked up, to be played with, to have my diaper changed, to take a nap, to get up from a nap, to touch things I'm not supposed to touch, to go outside, to be left alone, etc.
This week...
I got to have some of my aunts over! They came over just to play with me, I know that's the reason.
They builded block towers for me to knock over, and I threw blocks at them.
It was fun. I like having people over to play with me.
We also practiced walking a lot.
Something I love to do is go to Wal-Mart.
It's the most magical place on earth!
There are so many fun colors to look at and people to watch
and old men to flirt with.
Momma says she hopes I will always think
that Wal-Mart is so much fun.
Chewed on one of momma's favorite movies.
Learned that I like to drink, and play with chocolate milk.
Enjoyed being outside, a lot!
And was dreadfully cute.
We did a lot of getting wet this week. I like the blue water. It's wet. And big. Like a bath. Only bigger. And I love a bath! See?
(Me loving a bath.)
I get so excited when I know we are going to the big blue water I wiggle and wiggle and throw a fit when mom wont let me crawl over the edge. She has all these crazy rules, like I have to wait for her to get in with me, I have to wear sunscreen, and I can't jump out of my floaty. When I'm bigger I'm going to be a fish like my siblings so that I can go into the water all by myself! Humph!
Probably the biggest, most exciting thing we did this week was have all of daddy's family over for dinner on Saturday. I got to see Fritzy and everyone played in the pool and we had my favorite pizza casserole! It was Fritz's first time in the pool. I think he liked it after a while.
(First time in the pool.)
(He got shivery so he had to get out.)
I love having family over, we get to play for hours.
But sometimes I get rude when I get hungry and start yelling at everyone. Momma says I need a Snickers.
After we went getting wet, Fritzy and I dried off on the front porch for a while. This is how it went down.
We talked for a minute, then things got serious.
"I like you Fritzy."
"I like you too!"
"We are best buddies. Aren't we?"
"Ooooh yeah."
That was my week. I don't know what everyone else did but I had fun getting wet, and playing, and eating. I just hope this next week my teeth stop hurting so that I can be all happy again. I am going to go take a nap, so that momma can do some chores. She says I'm too heavy to carry around while she's doing everything, but I don't think so.

Once I get in I am so happy. Sometimes I sit in the big floaty with momma or sissy.
Here we are practicing blowing kisses across the water.
You have to throw them real hard to get them all the way
across the water.
Mommy and me.
