We spent almost every morning with all three of us in bed, playing and laughing together for an hour or more, until we decided to get up.
I think this face says it all. What is better than waking up and getting to play with mommy AND daddy at the same time? The smiles were huge and the laughs were many this week.
(Sorry, I know these are blurry, but they really captured the moment!)
Dis is mah bum!
Good morning blue eyes! She gets really nosey about what dads doing on his phone.
Loving on daddy. Seriously, the best mornings are when daddy is off work.
We did a lot of walking, round and around and all over. She's getting very good at the goose step.
Yeah! The pet store! Where you can buy a rabbit water bottle for $18, a leash for $25, a puppy (onsale!) for $800, a Green Tree Python for $900 (not including tank) or a pet rabbit for $50! (The exact same kind of rabbit we have out in our Bunny House that we got for $5 apiece.) What a magical place! At least you get to handle the animals at that particular store, I'll give them that.
Also this week, sissy got a hair cut, and her first hair color.
(The time I dyed her hair with Kool-Aid that turned both of our skins an amazing shade of avatar blue doesn't count.)
(Before.)
(Chilling.)
(Sharing.)
Sneak picture! In the pictures I took right after we got home you couldn't really see the new color, so I sneaked one when the light was right. Totally cute cut, but her hair will have to grow out just a bit for the shadow to be very prominent.
This week on the farm...
We had babies! Well, Jacky did. Actually she had them a couple of minutes after I posted last week, so they are a week old today! 7 babies, 4 white and 3 dark. As you can see from the picture sometimes she sorts out her babies and keeps them color segregated, its really weird.
Ever wondered what a baby rabbit looks like up close and personal?
Ugly! It looks uuuggahlay! Yet, completely adorable all at the same time.
River's babies are getting big. They are five weeks, I believe, on Wednesday, so we will be weaning them. I have no great love for River Song, but it'd probably be good for her to actually start getting to eat again. She has little pig babies who gobble everything up super fast.
We also had our first butchering! I'll spare you pictures of the severed heads and internal organs, because I don't think many of you would find that particularly palatable. I'm not a psycho but I kinda thought it was interesting, but blood doesn't bother me. Have you ever seen teeny tiny body organs? They are so cool!
The white ones were the ones we sent to the big clover field in the sky. The spotted ones are next. MUAHAHAHA!
Apparently, the people who lived here before us really liked flowers, especially roses. (This is a good thing because I don't know the first thing about planting a pretty garden, but I can keep a pre-made one weeded and watered!) I've found at least four different types of rose bushes, but so far I'm liking this one the best. Rose is another scent I could "drench" myself in. "And when I say drenched, I mean drenched!"
We also have baby food growing! A tiny squash and a tiny jalapeno. Hurrah! See? My black thumb isn't completely lethal. The fact that we had to replant the entire garden once so far is absolutely NOT my fault. I'm not a weather man! I can't control the temperatures! I didn't make that last frost happen.
I'm really excited over a small victory this week. See this?
Do you see it?
My first ever, first try, real life, never had one before, poached egg.
Julia Child would be so proud!
First try! Boom bam baby!
It was actually kind of delicious. Like a boiled fried egg. Now I just need to learn hollandaise sauce so that I can make Eggs
(Get it? *cricket cricket*)
Sooooo, anyway...You guys wanna see something weird?
Not every day you see a baby eating toilet paper, right out of the package!
Speaking of babies, I just have two sets of words.
1: Massive growth spurt.
2: Sleep Training.
I knew everything in her closet was getting a bit snug, but now I can't even get any of it over her head. Shout out for Wal-Mart clearance racks so my baby doesn't have to be naked!
Sleep training I can sum up for you in two pictures.
It's possibly probably almost all my fault she has bad sleep time habits. I'll confess, I love rocking, and I love rocking my baby. When she was younger I'd rock her to sleep every single day, and hold her while she slept. When we moved, I still rocked her to sleep every single time, but when she got to sleep I'd lay her down. Now, that's all fine and dandy, until she became so completely dependent on rocking she'd wake up every 20 minutes wanting to be picked up. Not to mention it started taking over an hour to get her to sleep. So, yeah. Sleep training now. It's not too bad! (Course it helps that she's also going through a growth spurt so she is always tired.)This is day three and she's starting to fall asleep faster, with a little less angry vocalization. We aren't going cold turkey. I still love to rock my baby, so I rock her for ten minutes, long enough to get her relaxed, then she goes in the crib to get herself to sleep. Let's all say a prayer for her daddy as he is having a tough time with this. I'm a little more hard hearted than he is.
Speaking of hubby, I just want to say I married my best friend. He always knows just what sort of things will make me happy.
Take, for instance, this tiny turtle he brought me home from work.
Look at that face! Ermergerd!
It made me very, very happy.
This week was full of adventures. Let me sum it up for you real quick...
Daddy was off, lots of fun, haircut, expensive shop, ugly babies, mass genocide, pretty flowers, tiny food, eggs, better sleep, tiny turtle.
That's all folks!
But first...let me post a selfie.
Why is a raven like a writing desk?
Love it!!! Miss you all!!
