The Anniversary, and Father's Day One

Unlike last week, this week seemed to fly by! It was Monday, then something happened and now its Sunday again. I think I might have a couple of Whackspurts mating in my ears, making everything fuzzy for me! Whoa there Nellie, I need a few minutes to think about things. This week went by so fast, that this will probably be a much shorter post than last week, because I'm still trying to figure out where all the time went, and what exactly did we do all week? Can't have to both ways I guess, time either crawls or runs (kind of like a kid) there's no in-between.

Let's start out on Wednesday, which was mine and Sonny's third wedding anniversary! Happy anniversary to us! We didn't get to go out or anything that night because he was working night shift. I was at a complete loss for what to do, but I wanted to do something nice, even if it was small. Finally, I got the idea to give him one small present for each hour of his shift rather than one large present. A present every hour for twelve hours? Heck yeah! I'm brilliant like that.
1. A set of pens (if you know my husband you know he has a thing for pens and paper.)
2. Small notebook
3. Pocket Knife
4. New wallet
5. Diet Coke for dinner
6. Hersey's dark chocolate kisses
7. DADD shirt
8. New finger nail clippers
9. New soft scrubby
10. Luke Bryan Cd
11. Tiny egg frying pan and
12.....personal item :D

It was a good idea, I'm pretty sure. I wish I would have thought of it a long time ago so I could have been collecting better stuff, but oh well!

You know what he got me?
Five cases of the limited edition Vanilla Float Dr. Pepper, so now I wont run out for a week or two :) Whoohoo! I love the stuff.

We did get to finally go out on Friday, just the two of us! You know, that's only the second time we've been out, just us two, since BK came along? Crazy huh? Needless to say, I was super excited. We had a delicious dinner at Red Hot and Blue then went to Academy to browse around for a while.

(He couldn't figure out how to smile, so I helped him :)

I had a Jack and Coke somethingerother Pulled Pork on a Pretzel Bun.
I could have another one of those. Right now!
Hubby, of course, had steak.

At Academy we ended up buying some bullets, which he promptly spilled all over the floor, not once, but twice. That was funny business!

Oh! Sonny's birthday present (FINALLY) arrived, on Friday.

                                                                   Cool idea? Yes?!

                                                                   His face says yes!

A Jerkygram from Mancrates.com, had some fun and bizarre stuff in it! Like Kangaroo, Ostrich, and Alligator jerky. Happy (late) birthday babe!

It was a pretty off week with Baby K. She was running a low fever half the week, and the only thing I can figure is teething, as she wont let me anywhere near her mouth, and she's constantly got both fists in there rubbing her gums. Teething is vicious business!
She had a pretty bad night on Thursday, woke up screaming and couldn't stop for almost two hours. She ended up in bed with me, rolling around screaming into the pillow and blankets, getting tired and leaning on me, sobbing. That was not a fun time.
She finally fell asleep, just barely touching me and on the very edge of my               pillow. But you can bet your mustache I didn't move a muscle all night.

Although a lot of the week we had our grumpy faces on, there were several highlights...
(As a parent, it doesn't get much better than seeing your child's interest in books develop...at the point that I snapped this picture I was pretty darn proud, seeing her sitting there, looking at books quietly...then she started ripping the pages out. Proud moment gone!)

Modeling the new mermaid beach towel G.G got for her in Florida!

                                          This week on the farm...
(McGonagall helping keep an eye on everyone.)

We had our first "harvest!" Three hot peppers, one cucumber and one squash (We've actually picked four more cucumbers since then, and will probably have more ready today.) I can tell ya, I love me a good garden fresh cucumber, especially the sweet slice ones we planted this year, but we are gonna have more than we can eat. I'm waiting impatiently for the tomatoes to ripen! No more cardboard flavored Wal-Mart tomatoes for a while, yes please!

We are really enjoying our new buck, he is such a sweetyhead, beggar face! Who could resist that face?

We butchered the spotted rabbits on Friday, so there's gonna be some good eating going on around here! (McGonagall was helping guarding them.)

Kyra made some Pepsi pops! I guess we weren't thinking too well and filled the trays full of the fuzzy liquid, so they kind of over-flowed. Next time we will only be filling the trays half full! It was a funny surprise first thing in the morning. "Oh by the way, you might want to look in the freezer..."

Also this week I tried a new Pinterest recipe. Broccoli and Cheese Stuffed Tilapia...get in my belly!   It was so good I was really disappointed to take my last bite.

It was Father's Day this weekend! Honestly...we didn't get to do a whole lot.

But this is my dad. He has always worked and provided for all his kids. Maybe we didn't always get the newest, lastest, greatest things, or get to go on big family vacations, but we always had what we needed and I think that makes me a better person in the end. He is always praying for me, and willing to help me out whenever I have a problem or question. Also the man is a freaking gardening genius. Its true. If you have a question about a plant, he knows the answer, or at least where to find the answer. He is the greenest thumb I've ever met.

We had a pretty good father's day at our house. We went to one of Sonny's favorite places for lunch (sadly the place he really wanted to go to was closed.) Then he had one of his buddy's over they went shooting for a while, and then spent the rest of the afternoon in the pool with all the kids, followed by delicious grilled food and hanging out with friends.

Shooting is something we think is pretty fun. Especially, when you get to try out new guns. I just got to shoot an AR-15 for the first time...that was something I could definitely do all day!

In closing I want to say thank you to all the great dads out there.
I couldn't imagine the world without dads!
I wouldn't want to.
No sir.

You are what you eat.
